The Future of Budget iPads Is Concerning
Apple’s hunger for money is eternal
Over the years, the entry-level iPads have gained more popularity than the mighty iPad Airs and the mightier iPad Pros. Not only do they have better sales, but they are also the desired choice of people wanting a tablet but don’t want to overspend. And Apple, as we know, hates people who abstain from overspending on its products.
Thus, the company does its best to hinder devices that fall under the budget segment. But during their launch events, Apple flaunts them to be the absolute ‘value-for-money’ gadgets with the latest and greatest specs. In reality, they are nothing but washed-up products with an outdated design and yesteryear processors.
Be it the regular iPhone models that don’t have ‘Pro’ in their names, the MacBook Airs, or the Apple Watch SE models, Apple ensures that people realise what they’re lacking before they purchase these products. But iPads, on the other hand, have received a slightly fairer treatment than the rest of the products.
Functionality-wise, the budget iPads perform just as well as the premium ones. Surely, we miss out on the ProMotion refresh rate, XDR displays, and Silicone chips. But at least we get Centre-Stage video calling on the budget models, along with the Apple Pencil, keyboard and mouse support…
