Pencil support can work just as fine with the non-Pro models, as the standard iPads with older chipsets are well compatible with the Apple Pencil.

Having said that, even if Apple makes it compatible with the Pro models, people would still be okay as something is better than nothing.

And not just procreate but also notability and goodnotes’s iPhone apps will have a purpose with the pencil support.
