Metaverse Is Unlikely to Secure Its Future
Here’s why the billion-dollar startup is a joke
Metaverse… It’s all just smoke and mirrors. A pointless, digital echo chamber where people can delude themselves into thinking they’re something they’re not.
When Zuckerberg announced the release of the Metaverse, he hyped it as a platform that would revamp the internet and how we function in our daily lives. But in reality, Zuckerberg only hyped a platform that lacks purpose, meaning, and direction. It’s like a giant, unblinking eye staring into space: it doesn’t know where to look or what to do with itself, so it just stares at nothingness until something happens (which usually involves some kind of disaster).
Zuckerberg also claimed it to be a revolutionary concept that would change how we use the internet. But in reality, Metaverse isn’t a new concept. A 1992 novel, Snow Crash, mentioned a similar concept when the internet wasn’t even that good.
