Is Samsung Lying to Us About the Moon Pictures?

Galaxy S Ultra is probably faking the moon photography

Once upon a time in history, Nasa was accused of setting up the moon landing, and in the modern world, Samsung is accused of setting up the moon itself.

It all started a few days back when I noticed that my social media feed was suddenly anti-Samsung. Be it Twitter, Reddit or YouTube, everyone was blaming Samsung for misleading people about its smartphone’s camera for three consecutive years.

When Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020, it became an overnight sensation because of its extraordinary camera lens that made distant objects appear an inch away. Samsung called this technology Space Zoom.

Space Zoom enabled the possibility of taking high-definition moon images while being earthbound. Shockingly, the images it took were as good as the images taken on a $5000 telephoto camera. Yet, no one smelled anything fishy back then.

After the S20 Ultra, Samsung added three new successors to this popular series. And it goes without saying that there were major camera improvements with each release. Still, is it enough hardware advancement to compete with a professional camera? Absolutely, not.
