iOS 18.5 — It’s Pale But Important
Everything you need to know about the latest iOS 18.5 firmware update
Apple recently released the iOS 18.5 update for the supported iPhone models. Now, an ‘iOS x.5’ update typically emphasises stability and performance of the operating system. Having said that, this update comes in with minor changes; however, they are still very crucial for most people.
As we’re getting closer to the massive unveiling of iOS 19 next month in June, Apple has no reason to add new features to this update. Some features, such as Siri On-Screen Awareness and Battery Intelligence, which were supposed to come with iOS 18, will now be coming directly to iOS 19.
Now, before I jump to the detailed review update right away, let me briefly address the other aspects revolving around this update, especially the storage.
First off, the 18.5 update comes in at around 1.4 to 2 gigabytes in size for most iPhone models, but this can vary based upon which iOS firmware you’re upgrading from. If you’re upgrading straight from iOS 17 or lower, you might see it around 12 to 15 gigabytes.
