How to Get the Always-On Display on Older iPhones
The only legit way to get the Always-On Display on non-supported iPhones
First things first, let’s call the Always-On Display AOD for the sake of ease. The AOD on the iPhone debuted two years back with the 14 Pro and Pro Max variants. As expected, this feature was passed on to 15 Pro and 16 Pro models respectively.
The AOD is kept exclusive to these newer Pro models due to its unique way of functioning. The AOD takes advantage of the new and improved Pro-motion display of these newer Pro models that can descend to 1 Hz when the screen is off. This way, it ensures that it’s not taking a toll on the battery.
Sadly, this year, Apple didn’t include this feature in the base iPhone 16 models. Instead, they gave us the Action Button and Camera Control which no one really cares for.
But what if I tell you that you can get the APD display on literally any iPhone that supports the new iOS 18 update? What if I tell you that this isn’t a workaround method or a clickbait, but a legitimate way to achieve the AOD on a regular iPhone? Also, you don’t need to make any hardware changes to your iPhone.
