Here’s Why I’ll Skip the iPhone 16 Pro Max This Year and You Should Too

It’s better to wait than to be sorry

This year I was super excited to finally upgrade to a ‘Pro Max’ variant of the iPhone but now I’ve changed my mind and have decided to save instead, thanks to Apple.

First things first, where I come from, the ‘Pro Max’ variant starts at $1950 for the base storage option. For the same price, a person in the US can buy an iPhone Pro Max, a pair of AirPods and an Apple Watch.

For the last two years, I’ve been using the ‘Plus’ variants of the iPhone (14 & 15 Plus) since they are much more affordable and value-for-money. Oh, and by affordable, I mean $1099 for the 128 GB variant of the Plus model.

Anyway, keeping this factor aside, the iPhone 16 lineup went through some major changes this year, especially the ‘regular’ models (16 & 16 Plus). It received the new Capture Button alongside yesteryear’s Action Button that debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro.

However, the Pros didn’t seem to be that big of a deal. Apart from a few camera tweaks and the chipset improvements, there wasn’t anything exciting about the Pros this year.

Here are two major reasons why I’ll skip the iPhone 16 Pro Max this year, and you should too:
