Apple Owes You Money for Betraying Your Trust — Here’s How to Claim It
You spoke, Siri heard…everything!
If you have been an iPhone user anywhere between 2014 and the present, I have great news — you are probably eligible to claim some cash from Apple for doing the unthinkable. That’s right, Apple has stolen data from you, and you have every right to demand compensation for it.
As you know, Apple has been very vocal about prioritising user privacy, be it with their products or the operating systems. However, the recent lawsuit against Apple says otherwise. It turns out that Apple has been accused of using unauthorised voice recordings taken discreetly from the iPhone’s microphone to improve Siri’s performance.
The scary part is that these voice recordings could be anything. It could be that phone conversation with the tech support, where you give out your credit card information, or the loud noises you make in bed while your iPhone rests on the side table. Just to be clear, I was talking about snoring in the second example.
Anyway, I’ve spent a good portion of my life boasting to my Android friends about Apple’s strong stance on privacy. I guess the jokes are on me now. What a bad time to be alive as an Apple fanboy.
